Altitude tent

ALTITUDE TRAINING with an altitude tent and application in training.

Altitude training has become an integral part of successful competition preparation in almost all endurance sports. In addition to the classic high-altitude stay in the mountains, there is also the option of bringing the altitude home with you. This is the artificial height. The partial pressure of the air is no different than at sea level, only the oxygen content is the same as at high altitude. There is no such state in nature. However, the effect is the same.

If you decide to work at height, the big challenge is figuring out which height is right for you. Just because St. Moritz is 1,822 meters above sea level doesn’t mean that this altitude is ideal for you.

Leistungssteigerung im Triathlon: Training mit Höhenzelt

For athletes who really want to know exactly, we find out the following factors in a double test:

– Your acute altitude reaction
– A forecast of HOW you will react to altitude (possible increase in performance due to altitude is between 0-6%)
– In which heart rate range you have to train at altitude
– Time to full altitude adaptation
– What height is the ideal?

I work together with Gerrit Glomser. He comes to me once or twice a year with his high-altitude gondola, in which we carry out 2 performance tests with you – one at 1,800m, the other at 400m. Cost CHF 360,-

Roy Hinnen: Höhenzelt

What are my offers like?

You can rent a high-altitude tent from me, it will cost you CHF 590 per month. I will accompany you and give you instructions on the optimal application. I recommend sleeping in a high altitude tent for at least 6 weeks (about 6 months before your competition). After this phase, we analyze what it brought. Then follows a second phase of 6 weeks and up to your competition. This application is called sleep high, train low.

For CHF 100 more per month, I can also actively accompany you. That means you train with the mask on the home trainer with oxygen debt. I will give you the necessary equipment and the training requirements. This application is called sleep high, train low and high.

In the third variant, I am your advisor and will show you the tricks of the equipment you need to buy to raise your bedroom. This investment amounts to around CHF 17,000. A generator is cheaper, around CHF 4,500 with a mask.

For ambitious athletes, the correct use of artificial height can trigger the final leap in performance and bring up to a 6% increase in performance.

Important: Make sure your ferritin level is above 100 µg/l. lies. This is crucial for successful altitude training.
