Height preparation for at home
Altitude training (reduced oxygen supply to the body – hypoxia) has established itself as an integral part of successful competition preparation in almost all endurance sports. Artificial altitude is also used in alpinism to prepare for high-altitude camps in the mountains. Correct acclimatization in an altitude tent, for example, can reduce the occurrence of altitude-related illnesses. The partial pressure of the air is no different than at sea level, only the oxygen content is reduced as at high altitude. There is no such state in nature. However, the effect is the same.
I offer individual acclimatization protocols for every challenge. Whether for altitude training camp preparations, mountain tours, expeditions or longer stays at high altitude.
The following should be considered:
1) Everyone reacts differently to altitude.
2) Even if you are 100% fit, this does not mean that you can handle altitude well.
3) An altitude adaptation in the mountains takes at least 23 days.
4) An altitude adaptation in a tent takes about 300 hours, with at least 8-10 hours in the tent over 24 hours. Several such blocks can be made per year.
5) A prerequisite for altitude adaptation is to have sufficient ferritin/B12 in the blood.
6) To simulate altitude at home, you need an altitude generator, a tent, a room where you can put the compressor, max. 10 m away from your tent, an oximeter that measures the oxygen saturation on your finger, an altitude device that shows you the current altitude in the tent, a mask with which an active artificial altitude can be implemented on a treadmill or exercise bike. A 20L air bag where the high altitude air is temporarily stored before you inhale it.

A compressor with tent and all individual parts will cost you around CHF 4,500 incl. VAT. an accompaniment from me for 3 months.
Altitude room
If you want a room (4x4m) at altitude where you can train and sleep, the compressor costs CHF 22,000.
