Hey Roy
After my first 70.3 triathlon in Port Elizabeth, I rode to Namibia with my tour bike. What I experienced there was triathlon times 10!
Symbolic of swimming in a triathlon; it’s crazy how few km I could ride per day because of headwinds, bad roads and navigation issues!
Symbolic for cycling; I had the feeling that I was only riding against the headwind, but then I was able to get used to it mentally because I imagined I was riding uphill.
Symbolic of running; It’s crazy what it all leads to, you need organization, flat tires, darkness, finding somewhere to stay overnight, looking for food, finding water!
Conclusion : I am very grateful to have taken a sabbatical, next; 70.3 in Wales!!!
