“I am 49 years old and the owner of a painting, plastering and varnishing company with 25 employees. I started doing sport 6 years ago. At first it was exclusively on a racing bike. The beginning was extremely difficult for me, as I had hardly done any sport at all before. About 2 years ago, road cycling was no longer enough for me. I started doing triathlons. I dreamed of finishing a long distance. I then competed in my first Olympic distance in September 2014. I realized that I still had a lot of work to do in swimming and running.
In the fall of 2015, I met Roy Hinnen at a swimming seminar in Grenzach-Wyhlen. I very quickly decided to get coaching from him. My training changed a lot as a result. All-out tests for swimming, running and cycling, shorter intensive units with very structured watt and heart rate targets. This training enabled me to make great progress very quickly. I had clearly defined my goal to Roy: “Finish the long distance in 11 hours”! The training is very varied, the weekly phone calls and the occasional meetings for a running, swimming or cycling session are hugely motivating for me. All the coaching was perfectly tailored to me by Roy.
I can only recommend Roy’s support to anyone who wants to get closer to their triathlon goals. My dream came true on July 3, 2016, when I crossed the finish line at the Ironman Frankfurt after 10:45:07. THANK YOU ROY!!!
Now it’s time to set new goals… and I hope that Roy will continue to coach me for many years to come!”
