“As part of my preparation for the Ironman Frankfurt – my first long-distance competition – I worked with Roy and can recommend him as a coach without reservation. I got to know him as a person who has an extraordinary talent for getting involved with the other person, “feeling” them, asking the right questions and drawing the right conclusions for the further coaching plan. This is characterized by an absolutely open and honest exchange between coach and athlete with the aim of receiving detailed feedback in order to always align the training plan with the athlete. The end result is a completely individualized training plan that is tailored to the athlete’s physical performance, mental resilience, available time budget and athletic goals.
I found the specific training content to be absolutely practical, sometimes innovative and always varied. The guidelines are consistently designed in such a way that the athlete is constantly led into new areas of development, but is not overtaxed in the long term. The focus is always on the sporting goal, but without losing the fun of sport and a healthy balance with professional and private life. In our first meeting, we set a target time of 9:30 h for the Ironman Frankfurt. In the end, it turned out to be even a little bit faster, and that with just over 2 years of previous triathlon experience and an average of 10-12 hours of training per week in preparation. I wouldn’t have thought that possible before. Nevertheless, we will probably try to step on the gas on shorter distances in future.
Thanks again Roy!”
