Feedback on the bike fitting seminar in Frankfurt

“Through extreme athlete Iris Hadbawnik I got the chance to attend a bike fitting seminar with triathlon trainer Roy Hinnen. The appointment was found quickly. It was supposed to be June 28th, 2019 and couldn’t have been better as I just got a new triathlon bike.

So on Friday we quickly packed the triathlon bike, suit and shoes and off we went to the bike fitting. I almost forgot my tools and all the spare parts for adjusting the bike. But with everything included, the first thing I could do was put the wheel on the roll. After I sat on the bike in my Tria suit, Roy explained to all participants what I had wrongly adjusted on the bike and what should be considered when adjusting.

Flat isn’t always good, but you don’t see that when you sit on the bike.

After discussing the best things that should be changed, the wheel came off the roll and we rebuilt it according to the specifications. During the conversion, the next wheel came on the roll and the necessary improvements were quickly discussed here as well.

After all the bikes were adjusted accordingly, Roy showed various exercises for optimal cycling. At the same time, he addressed nutrition and carbohydrate consumption. But problems such as knee pain when cycling or the right position in the water when swimming were also addressed. Roy accepted all questions that arose and answered them promptly.

In the meantime I’ve ridden a lot of kilometers in the new position and I have to say that I now have the feeling of sitting in – and not on – the bike.”
