“After years of taking a break from top-level fencing, I decided to take up more sport again. I had always enjoyed various sporting activities. So I started training again and became a leisure athlete. I soon wanted to train more and more intensively. But my body told me that if I wanted to continue enjoying sport and protect my health, I had to structure my training and approach it in a more considered and coordinated way using training plans. This is the only way I can set myself goals and constantly improve. I met Roy, my neighbor in Küssnacht, by chance. Through my interest in sport, I learned more and more about his work as a coach. I was allowed to do several trial training sessions with him. In May 2012, I decided on a coaching package for a year. This year was my best year in sport. I learned the triathlon sports from scratch, and I also benefited a lot in terms of nutrition and recovery.”
