Sandra Tandler

I’ve been training according to Roy’s training plans for almost five months now. By the way, this is the first time I’ve trained like this. Before that, the word “training plan” was a foreign word to me.
The training is hard and can be easily integrated into everyday life because the units are short and to the point. Of course, it is also necessary to complete a longer training session at the weekend.

At the beginning of April 2017 the first triathlon and I immediately took second place. There was joy! To my astonishment, because I had absolutely no sense of time.

During the last few months since I started intensive triathlon training with Roy, my character has strengthened even more. I have come to the realization that this sport or sport in general is a playground for emotions, that sport helps me to feel good in my body, that a sport-appropriate diet, in addition to training, is the main pillar for achieving personal performance goals and that mutual trust between coach and athlete is the most important thing for a successful cooperation.

In addition, I have surprisingly found that my body tells me how we train and not the other way around. Through the daily mental training, which I was able to learn from Roy, I feel like a very strong personality and it gives me an incredible amount of strength to master my busy everyday life in a relaxed, energetic and joyful way. I’ve also finally learned to break out of my oasis of well-being and I’m realizing that as a human being you can dig up an incredible amount of resources if you really want to, be it in sports, at work or in everyday life.

Nowadays, a training plan is often simply pushed through without considering the athlete’s condition. Not with Roy! He knows that every person is an individual personality that should be respected. That brings mutual trust and only that brings success. Roy challenges and encourages me, is always available for me when I need him and the joint training sessions are not neglected either. Roy responds to my condition, he observes me, tries to empathize with me and acts accordingly.

Roy, thank you for the great support and the very pleasant cooperation. It’s a lot of fun training with you!
